Day Nine - Raymond Island koalas and more pies

The snow may be falling in Chobham but here on the balmy Antipodean beaches all is fine with temperatures in the high 20's this afternoon. It is very peaceful here and with cheap housing, warm weather plus the most wonderful 'pie shops' wherever we go, life could not better be (cholesterol count permitting).

The downside of course is that Australia has more than it's share of 'natural disasters' - massive flooding at the moment means that Queensland is half underwater with numbers of fatalities caused by what is being termed an inland tsunami - dreadful.

Today's highlight was the koala bear country, a place called Raymond Island is home to numbers of koalas and we were lucky enough to see several of these 'cute' looking creatures as well as some very colourful parrots and an itinerant porcupine.
